Grumpy Grampa is a bold fashion and lifestyle brand that sits at the intersection of streetwear culture and self-aware humor, redefining what it means to grow old with attitude. As the sole brand designer, I developed a comprehensive visual identity system from the ground up, including logo system, color palette, typography, voice & messaging, and brand-in-action applications across merchandise, packaging, and digital touchpoints.
The core design challenge was balancing hypebeast aesthetics with tongue-in-cheek wit — creating a brand that feels genuinely rebellious rather than costume-like. The result is a high-contrast identity built on a red, black, and white palette, paired with Lexend and Poppins typefaces to strike the right tension between boldness and readability.
The brand guidelines document serves as a full handoff-ready system, covering everything from logo usage rules and clear space to tone of voice and key slogans — ensuring consistency whether the brand shows up on a drop tee, a packaging box, or an Instagram ad.
